Food! And some personal life...
I currently have three guinea pigs, named in order of age, Nibbler, Hot Fudge, and Chocolate. Chocolate was in my first post, and I don't have a picture of Nibbler or Hot Fudge. I will have pictures soon.

Advice about knowledge and choosing male or female
(If you just got your first pet, and you want to breed, do not unless you are a true expert, more of an expert than me. But I'm not an expert.) So, a female and another female don't fight. A male and a male will fight if a female is in the same house. But a female and a male won't fight no matter what. A sow and a boar will mate if in the same cage. If you want a calm, lap pet, then a male is right for you. If you want a more easily agitated pet, in other words, a female, no little kids or you'll need the shovel again...
No books involved!!!
Just so ya know, I am not reading out of a book, I memorized these proven facts for no apparent reason... I'm not a real expert, but, as I said, I'm pretty dang close. If you need advice, put it in my comments thingy and check it the next day. I will not reply to things about sick pigs, or, if
I do, I will say: Go see a veterinarian.
First advice snipet!
Anyway, if you are looking for a guinea pig as a pet, not food, look for one that is younger than 4 months old, but older than 2 weeks. Make sure all the pigs in the enclosure housed with the guinea pig you like have bright, clear eyes. If they don't, check another enclosure. If you can, hold your healthy favorite guinea pig for a few minutes to see if he/she is calm. If he/she is calm, healthy, and looks cute to you, hope you have $100 to $150, that includes the cage cost, food and water bottle cost, and, of course, the guinea pig cost. These animals grow up to weigh no less than 2 and a half lbs., and no more than 5 lbs. They can stretch out to be up to 1 foot long, and are normally 8-10 inches long. Guinea pigs make great pets, just don't let children 5 and under pet, hold, or (provoke(not recommended)) the animal without an adult around, or you may have a dead pet and need a shovel, or a bitten and upset child.
