Pottytraining, good or bad?

It all depends on how and where your pet will live, in a cage, or free roam? If you choose free roam, then you should potty train your pig. You first start by purchasing the litter box. Your pet should be comfortably sitting in it so he/she can do their business. Next, fill the litter box about one third of the way full of straw, then put soft litter on top that is different than your pets cage litter. Place some of your pets droppings in the litter box. Give your pet a few days to explore the litter box. Also, it is much easier to start with a baby guinea pig, old pigs don't understand the new tricks. When you see your pet eliminate in the box, treat him with his favorite food or a carrot. If their are other people who see him eliminate, ask them to treat your pet too, only treat him once, though. Some pets just don't get it, that's okay. Just leave your pet in a cage. He/she may just eliminate in the cage corners, which makes your job easier, too.
