The memories...

I remember the sweet feeling of childhood innocence... (PSST! I got this idea from Carlotta at pastor's girl's ponderings. Check out her blog! :) ) The lazy days of swimming in our deep pool, the 'chore' of raking the many leaves in our front yard, and jumping into the leaf piles with my older brother... the harsh winters filled with sled races and snow fights(I couldn't make a snowball, and still can't) and the cheery spring filled with mocking birds and Cardinals chirping at the arrival of Spring... Those were the days of childhood innocence. I remember how much I envied my older brother, and how he was in second grade and he had all these cool friends, and even though I was a girl and only four, they would let me follow them around on their little adventures, and they would play with me. I didn't think of them as my brother's friends, I also thought of them as my friends. We played an amazing version of tag, where there was a cat, mouse, dog, and a cheese(not real cheese, because I usually played the cheese) I would be chased around, squealing with the delight of being noticed. The early Summer days of just walking around my neighborhood, and collecting all the cool rocks I found for my rock collection. The summer days of just sitting at our computer, playing games like Barbie pet Rescue and the Game of Life; not caring that I had a play kitchen over there. I remember playing with my best friend Adriana in our five foot deep swimming pool, celebrating my birthday, her birthday, and my brother's birthday(not the brother previously mentioned) because the three of us had birthdays within two weeks of each other. I remember the day I could finally dive off the diving into the pool and touch the bottom of the pool. I also remember the days when I could open up my eyes under water without being harmed, and I retrieved the lost pool toys. I remember when my older brother lost my Kelly water play set underneath the water slide, and I couldn't swim over there on my own. I also remember when I got my first pair of snow shoes, and I wandered around aimlessly in our yard. My parents were so worried, they went out looking for me! It was during a blizzard, too, but I wasn't cold. I remember when I locked myself in the car because my om didn't drive up the big hill one day on our way home from Hannafords(it's a store, AND it's my cousin's last name! XD) Oh, and the time my older brother and I went sledding, and he accidentally pushed me down the hill... I slid down the hill on his new sled, and the sled flew up in the air when it hit the icicles reaching upward at the bottom. When my head hit our ice paved driveway, there was a five foot crack in the ice, but I didn't even get a concussion! I even remember my dad taking me to the doctor, just to make sure... I even remember the day when my older brother got his fist M rated game, and I told my teacher about it, and she told me that was great! :) I didn't get her sarcasm back then, but my brother was teaching me it ight when I asked him about it! :) Ah... If only I could relive those days of innocence, where everything I did was sweet... :') ~Miranda
